Meet Mr. Jonathan Eifert (@jonathaneifert) from Westport, Connecticut.
He is an entrepreneur developing two brands he founded. The first is Gold Sound Media, a New York-based creative studio specializing in media and content creation for classical music marketing. The second is Classical Post, a media brand that publishes podcasts, editorial, and a newsletter – all exploring the intersection of classical music, style, and wellness.

Jonathan, how do you define your style?

My style tends to be East Coast Preppy via New York. It’s funny because the more I explore the nuances of what some might call “preppy”, there are so many significant nuances. For example, Boston/Nantucket and Charleston/Savannah preppy are different from New York/Hamptons. I lean more toward New York/Hamptons.

What does it mean for you to be a Modern Gentleman?

A modern gentleman to me is someone with cosmopolitan taste, who is kind and polite, and motivated forward by curiosity. In other words, today’s gentleman practices kindness, is open-minded about differing points of view, and has a personal style that is elevated (perhaps driven by time spent in major cities). I also think that much of this can be summarized by saying this person is driven by a curiosity to learn and grow to be the best version of themselves.

When it comes to style, where do you mostly get your inspiration from?

Instagram has really shaped how I perceive style and what I aspire to achieve. I’ve been on the platform for 10 years and it’s changed my aesthetics and what I want. I’ve lived in both London and New York and my time in these cities has shaped my style choices, too. When I moved to Connecticut along the coast, I was heavily influenced by the lifestyle that’s shaped by trips to Nantucket, the Hamptons, and Palm Beach.

What’s your personal style signifier?

My style signifier is my gold Cartier love bracelet. Unlike a lot of gentlemen, I wear this instead of a luxury watch–though that could change in the future.

What are your favorite wardrobe essentials?

My wardrobe essentials include: a good pair of black Gucci loafers with the gold horsebit; a white dress shirt; Polo Ralph Lauren oxford shirts in light blue and white; a navy blue or cream cashmere sweater; a tweed blazer; and white jeans. Any one of these items incorporated into any outfit really elevates my mood and makes me feel confident.

What are your main passions and how do you cultivate them?

I love to attend classical music concerts in New York. It’s been a passion of mine for many years to hear world-class artists who come and perform at one of the city’s many venues. I also love the cocktails and dinners that typically accompany such concerts. So my passion for drinks, food, and music all come together with the backdrop of Manhattan.

I also like to get away from my normal routine by taking trips to the Hamptons and Palm Beach. Both offer the perfect amount of “elevated chill” and I always leave happier than when I arrived.

Tell us what can never be missing in your liquor cabinet.

Gin and scotch. These are my two favorites that I always have on hand. I’m currently into Tanqueray 10 or any type of London dry gin. I make a classic martini, though I freeze both the gin and the martini glass to make everything extra cold. I’ve been adding a cornichon as a garnish instead of olives or a twist. It’s something different and works nicely.

Secondly, I love any scotch from Islay because of the peat flavor. I’m particularly into Lagavulin 16 and enjoy it by the fire – both on the terrace in the summer or in the living room in the winter. I also love drinking scotch out of Baccarat glasses. It really elevates the experience.
